ENTERING THE GENEALOGY SECTION The following began in 1957 when I started researching my great-great-grandfather David Hartzell, born 1805 in Virginia, married 1835 in Connersville, Indiana, and died 1865 near Windsor, Illinois. That's all we knew about him. It has been my lifetime project to find his ancestry and life story. His parents were Adam & Christina (Sink) Hartzell of Franklin Co., VA and Montgomery Co., OH. This was finally proven Nov. 19, 2008 through Y-DNA 46-marker tests between a descendant of Adam's son John Hartzell and me (exact match). It was further verified Sept. 2010 in a match with a descendant of Adam's son Leonard Hartzell. More evidence is in my "Evidence For Ancestry of David Hartzell (1805-1865)" (link below).
