Comment by Jim Hartsell: Yes, this picture looks earlier than 1896, maybe 1890-91. It seems to be the whole James A family, but with an unknown man and two infants. Starting with the young boy standing on the left, names could be Harry; then Sherman & Jake sitting one behind the other; William Webster standing with hands on hips, then (not sure which is which) Sophronia, Minnie, and Oma. The unknown man could be James A's brother-in-law Timothy Small, or brother-in-law John Walden, the infants being Ward (b. 1888) & Edith (b. ~1890).
